Merry Christmas Eve!

We just got home from Christmas Eve dinner at my mom's. It is a lovely time that I look forward to every year. We have candles, china, crystal, wonderful food, a no-jeans policy, and Jack throwing mashed potatoes at us. It's fabulous! Many we love are no longer there to sit at the table for this traditional family gathering, but life and love go on, and that makes the message of the season all the more poignant.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. I hope I can see you all in this coming year! How did this decade go by so quickly!!

Well, we finished watching Ralphie in "A Christmas Story," we are now going to watch my favorite Christmas DVD ("Joy to the World," which you can get free here--it makes me cry every year), and then we will check the Santa tracker on NORAD before we tuck them into bed. Emma will be out like a light, but Laura....we have to wait for her to FINALLY drop off before we can get down to biz.

Merry Christmas to you all!!!

  1. I LOVE fancy dinners! Glad you had fun with the fam. I am now waiting for my little ones to fall asleep too ... it gets tougher the older they get! (But more fun too!)

  2. Hey, will you take your camera to functions like this? I want to see everyone dressed up and covered in mashed potatoes!
