Well, I try to be a creative mom, but you know, if it ain't in your genes, it ain't in your genes. But I had read some great ideas on different blogs for back-to-school dinners where your schoolchildren are the guests of honor. So I decided to have a special dinner the first day of school. The tablecloth needed ironing, I had a bit of anxiety every time Lolly picked up a crystal goblet, but all in all, I'm glad we did it. We had a great time, and it meant a lot to the girls, which made it all worth it. I just won't show them the pictures of the blogs where it's absolutely amazing! ;)

The girls were excited they got to have SODA and brownies a la mode for dessert.

our theme--not that original, but I thought it would be great for our family. Preparation spiritually, temporally, and with school. I also notice now that I'm looking at the pictures that I forgot to put a candle in one of them. I am nothing if not glamorous.

Jack enjoyed dinner, too!
voila! a new year has begun.
